Abstract

This IDC Survey analyzes key technology and services investments trends in Europe and identifies business opportunities for technology solution providers in the next 12 months. The survey is based on IDC's annual European Enterprise Communications Survey, 2021.

IDC's European Enterprise Communications Survey is an annual survey and a must-have for technology providers. It identifies organizations' priorities around enterprise communications services including telecommunications, collaboration, cloud, network, and life-cycle services. In addition, it provides an overview of company's network investment strategies, challenges, and service provider preferences.

Results are available for 12 European countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the U.K., Czech Republic, Poland, and Russia), six verticals (finance, manufacturing, the public sector, retail/ wholesale, business services, and transport), and six business size segments (50–99 employees; 100-249 employees; 250–499 employees; 500-999 employees; 1,000-4,999; and 5,000 or more employees) on request.

"The pandemic crisis has impacted organizations' ICT spending plans. More than 60% of European businesses did not change or even decrease their spending plans compared with last year. However, businesses have a strong investment focus on cloud services, WAN/network security, and IoT, reflecting the demand for cost optimization, business continuity, and agility to compete in an increasingly hybrid and omni-connected world," said Sylvia Wünsche, senior research analyst, European Enterprise Networks and Life-Cycle Services.
