Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight provides insight into the current and planned usage of real-time analytics as a tool for team performance measurements, and it also looks at whether the implementation of such tools correlates with a company's financial performance. The document contains European data from IDC's worldwide Future of Work Survey, conducted with 1,116 respondent companies (409 in Europe) in March 2021.

"As more businesses switch to working with distributed teams, IDC recorded significant uptake in the implementation of real-time analytics, with 1 in 3 European companies either already using them for measuring team performances or planning to do so in the next 18 months," said Meike Escherich, associate research director, European Future of Work at IDC. "But while real-time analytics can create actionable data and real-time insights, organizations must modernize KPIs to reflect new requirements for new work models, otherwise they risk harming individual and organizational performance."
