SMBs' COVID-19 Recovery: How Are Small and Midsize Enterprises in Different European Countries Adapting to the New Normal?
Abstract
This IDC Market Perspective covers the COVID-19 recovery status for European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMBs) and some insights on the outlook for 2022. Data-driven insights and country-level data is derived from IDC's 2021 European Industry Acceleration Survey of over 800 SMBs. Within this survey, SMBs are defined as businesses with a workforce ranging from a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 500.
"Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, European SMB spending on technology has remained resilient these past two years. As most respondents in our survey claimed to have already started their recovery journeys, we expect an increase in SMB technology spending in 2022," said Riccardo Barrai, research analyst, European Small and Medium-Sized Business and Start-Up Strategies.
