Abstract

This IDC Presentation addresses the key digital ecosystem drivers and barriers for European healthcare and life sciences industries. It examines different types of ecosystems and how they are fostering the development of new treatments, as well as innovative care services and pathways, that address the complex and interdependent dimensions of individuals' health and well-being. How these ecosystems will rely on digital environments to share data, insights, skills, and operational capabilities will determine their success in improving outcomes and experiences, while maintaining long-term economic success.

This presentation was delivered on November 25, 2021, during a virtual workshop for the OPEN DEI Project. As part of the European Commission's Horizon 2020 program, the OPEN DEI project focuses on "platforms and pilots" to support the implementation of next-generation digital platforms in four basic industrial domains: agriculture, energy, healthcare, and manufacturing.
