Abstract

This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation highlights IDC's top 10 Future of Digital Innovation–related predictions for the next five years in Europe. It discusses the regional implications of IDC's worldwide Future of Digital Innovation 2023 predictions, highlighting differences in adoption trends and investment plans for European organizations.

An increasing number of European organizations are now betting on new tech-driven business models in which the primary focus is on profitability and the generation of new revenue streams. However, only one in five European organizations have what we call an innovation-led approach to software development and delivery, where there is a unified business-software development capability with the foundation for continuous innovation.

"Across Europe, there is growing recognition that the delivery of digital applications and services plays an important role in future business strategies. While organizations lag global peers in terms of their ability to deliver digital innovation, ambitions today are strong. Investments in developing innovative digital products and services designed to disrupt or differentiate the business are a top 2023 priority for European organizations," said Jen Thomson, associate vice president, Cloud Innovation and Services.
