By: Martin StillerSenior Research Analyst

On-line Presentation

Abstract

This IDC Presentation provides the European banking results of IDC's European Vertical Market Survey, 2018–2019. The results provide an overview of how the European banking industry is evolving across countries. The survey covered 2,759 European organization, 135 of which were from the banking sector. The countries covered were the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Poland.

This presentation addresses such questions as:

  • How do banks view their business prospects over the next 12–18 months?
  • What are the most important business priorities for banking organizations in 2019?
  • What percentages of banks' IT budgets will be allocated to maintaining existing systems versus upgrades, regulatory compliance, and innovation?

This presentation is the first part of a four-part series looking at spending trends, digital roadmaps, and the current status of digital transformation in the banking industry. The other parts will provide deep dives into cloud readiness, big data and analytics, technology accelerators, and vendor rankings.
