Russia Internet-of-Things Market Forecast, 2020–2025

By: Elena SemenovskaiaResearch Director, Software, Commonwealth of Independent States

Abstract

This IDC Market Forecast study provides data, analyses, and forecasts for the Russian IoT market over the 2020–2025 period. It provides key considerations for technology suppliers in this evolving and complex market, as well as outlining the main drivers and inhibitors of growth during the forecast period. The forecast is based on the May 2021 version of the IDC Worldwide Semiannual Internet of Things Spending Guide, covering 82 use cases and 20 industry–specific "other" scenarios from across the technology stack, with both upfront and recurring spending considered.

"With many organizations' IoT pilot projects now complete and full deployments underway, the market perception of IoT has changed. IoT is no longer perceived as a standalone set of technologies. Organizations rather see IoT as a means of connecting IT and operations to support their journeys to become data-driven enterprises. Data delivered through IoT implementations is crucial for better decision-making processes and decision automation. As the digitalization of companies progresses, the convergence of IT and operational technology (OT) is shifting from being an aim to being a requirement, supporting the dissemination and wider acceptance of IoT." — Software Research Director Elena Semenovskaia, IDC Russia
