By: Martin Stiller
Abstract
This IDC Presentation presents the results of IDC's European Vertical Market Survey, 2019–2020 pertaining to banking in Europe. The results provide an overview of how the banking industry in Europe is evolving across countries. The survey covered 2,793 organizations in Europe, 137 of which were from the banking sector. The countries covered were the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Poland.
This presentation addresses questions such as:
- How do banks view their business prospects over the next 12–18 months?
- What are the most important business priorities for banking organizations in 2020?
- What percentages of banks' IT budgets will be allocated to maintaining existing systems versus ensuring upgrades, regulatory compliance, and innovation?
This presentation is the first part of a four-part series looking at spending trends, digital road maps, and the current status of digital transformation in the banking industry in Europe. The other parts will provide deep dives into cloud readiness, Big Data and analytics, technology accelerators, and vendor rankings.
