This IDC Web conference will use fresh survey data from 7,000 gamers in the United States to assess the current state of and near-term outlook for augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) gaming adoption and related entertainment content usage. More than 1 in 10 gaming households, it turns out, already owns some kind of AR or VR headset or viewing accessory.

Other topics addressed in the presentation include:

  • What are the demographics of today's AR and VR gamers?
  • What hardware platforms do they own?
  • What game or other piece of content have they found most enjoyable to date?
  • How likely is that current nonusers of these technologies will adopt one before the end of 2016, and what AR/VR platform are they most likely to buy - and why?

Session Speakers:

  • Lewis Ward, Research Director, Gaming and AR/VR

Audio replays of this Web conference are available to all registered participants starting the day after the event.
