For the purpose of analyzing the 3rd Platform spending performance in 2016, and forecasting the market spending from 2017 to 2021, IDC classifies the 21 industry segments into commercial enterprises that consist of 17 industry segments in Japan and the noncommercial segment that comprises four industry segments, which are government, local government, education, and consumers. IDC further divides the market according to the five company sizes, and presents as well as analyzes the 3rd Platform market spending forecast data by industry segment and company size.
