Japan Middleware Forecast, 2019−2023

By: Shintaro KusachiSenior Market Analyst, Software & Security, IDC Japan, Mitsuhiro IriyaResearch Manager, Software & Security, IDC Japan

Abstract

In order for IT suppliers operating in the middleware segment to increase added values to customers and win the competition in the growth market, they must propose a DX platform that can actually function in user companies. Therefore, IDC believes that they must provide support in institutional design that do not stop at technology, along with actively using automation technology to address the manpower shortage.

This study presents the Japan middleware market performance in 2018 and market forecast from 2019 to 2023. Both the market performance and forecast are divided into three market segments, namely application platforms, data management software, and integration and orchestration software. IDC also analyzes the 15 functional markets or functional segments included in these three market segments. "IT suppliers must propose appropriate ideas not only in terms of systems but also in institutional design when proposing platforms for DX. They must also provide support so that user companies are able to effectively make use of their investment," says Shintaro Kusachi, software and security senior market analyst, IDC Japan.
