IoT Adoption Trends in the UAE: Current and Planned Usage Levels Among Businesses — Part 2
By: Krishna Chinta Program Manager, Telecommunications and IoT, IDC Middle East and Africa
Abstract
This IDC Survey looks at the key Internet of Things (IoT) adoption trends identified in IDC's latest Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META) CIO Survey. The survey, conducted in early 2019, captured key business challenges and technology investment priorities of CIOs across META. Of the several technology areas and countries covered in the survey, IoT adoption trends within the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are examined in this document.
"Unclear ROI, data privacy concerns, a lack of understanding of technology benefits, and incompatibility with strategic priorities are the key factors inhibiting the uptake of IoT solutions among the surveyed respondents. These factors are also limiting the support of IoT projects in senior management teams in the UAE." — Krishna Chinta, Program Manager Telecommunications and IoT, IDC Middle East, Africa, and Turkey.
