IDC MarketScape: GCC Professional Security Services 2020 Vendor Assessment
By: Varun Kukreja Senior Program Manager, Uzair Mujtaba Program Manager - IDC Saudi Arabia, Yesim Arac Ozturk Research Manager, IT Security, Turkey
Abstract
This IDC MarketScape examines 20 different vendors offering professional security services in the highly competitive GCC market. The organizations considered in this study were thoroughly evaluated using the IDC MarketScape model, which reviews the vendors' capabilities and strategies against an extensive list of scoring criteria and parameters. These include the comprehensiveness of their offerings, portfolio benefits delivered, market execution, service delivery, market presence, customer experience, customer satisfaction, and talent management. With the combination of primary research and IDC's own in-depth industry knowledge and insights, we were able to accordingly assess the strength of each participating vendor along with their improvement areas. IDC conducted independent research for two organizations in this IDC MarketScape research study — Accenture and Saudi Business Machines. The vendors' final position on the IDC MarketScape figure will be a valuable indicator for organizations and enterprises in the region that are currently seeking a security advisor or trusted partner for their digital transformation journey.
Organizations across the GCC are undertaking massive transformation initiatives, which are driving them to implement cloud, IoT, and mobility to enhance their digital business services. These initiatives have vastly affected their threat landscapes and introduced multiple threat vectors. This increased attack risk is further complicated by growing regulatory and compliance needs in multiple sectors. The shift to a trusted digital economy has contributed significantly to the growth of cybersecurity services in the region and will continue to do so for many years to come.
"Organizations in the GCC are accelerating their digital transformation initiatives to create digital businesses, and these initiatives are designed with trust as an underlying principle. Organizations should work with professional security services providers to leverage their global and local expertise on compliance, technology, and MDR/SOC services to handle the evolving threat landscape and prevent threats from doing irreversible damage to their brands. The next decade for security will be about bringing transparency to end customers and ensuring data security and privacy are never compromised." — Varun Kukreja, Senior Program Manager, IDC Middle East and Africa
