Abstract

This IDC Survey provides insights into the business outlook and technology spending priorities of supply chain players in the Middle East and Africa (MEA). It presents the results of IDC's late 2020 survey of supply chain decision makers in the region. The survey sought decision maker perspectives on 2021 technology budgets and shifts in digital initiatives and technology focus areas. It also gauged the impact of COVID-19 on supply chain organizations.

Business continuity and resiliency are top strategic goals, with optimization and visibility key focal points. Supply chain entities have launched digital initiatives around automation, digital supply chain visibility and traceability, network management, and digital infrastructure. Most supply chain players in MEA are at an early stage of digital maturity, challenged by a lack of digital skills and internal resistance from management. Achieving an integrated architecture through modernization of technology stacks is a key aim of MEA supply chain players.
