Abstract

This IDC Manufacturing Insights Presentation details the key trends that are driving the investments of manufacturing companies in IT, as taken from the annual IDC European Vertical Markets Survey of 195 manufacturing companies in Western Europe. The key questions cover topics such as business outlook, business initiatives, IT strategies, IT trends, IT application adoption and investment levels, and IT vendor selection criteria.

In particular, this presentation addresses the following questions:

  • What are the top business priorities and IT objectives that are driving the strategies of European manufacturing organizations?
  • What are the IT spending plans of European manufacturers in 2015 and beyond?
  • How are 3rd Platform technologies (mobility, cloud, Big Data analytics, and social business) helping manufacturers to improve IT productivity?

This survey will give vendors a better view of trends and investment strategies in Europe and in various manufacturing industries in 2015. The survey will also be an essential tool for end users for go-to-market strategy and sales activity prioritization.
