Scott McLarnon

As group vice president and general manager of consulting, Scott McLarnon directs project teams providing clients with custom marketing and market intelligence solutions.   He has extensive experience working with clients to design and apply market intelligence to inform strategic planning, guide decisions, and manage operations.  His projects have influenced industry evolution and shaped client decisions on product design; marketing campaigns, positioning and messaging; partnering programs and global expansion.


Mr. McLarnon was instrumental in developing IDC's custom research and consulting business.  An experienced market researcher, he has employed both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to study the IT industry.

Prior to IDC, Mr. McLarnon was a senior consultant with a leading strategy and management consulting firm.  He previously held research, market analysis, planning and product marketing roles at industry-leading vendors.
