As Consulting Vice-President, Julie Tiley directs IDC's research teams to help clients meet their strategic planning, go-to-market and measurement needs. Her primary clients are telecommunication firms, government and financial services organizations. Julie leverages the knowledge assets of Canadian and worldwide analysts to develop solutions and services that clients require. She assists clients with identifying and targeting high-opportunity market segments; assessing competitors, designing, introducing, marketing and positioning products/services; developing marketing communications programs and creating compelling message statements; and improving product and service quality through customer and channel satisfaction measurement.
Prior to her role in consulting, Julie was part of the Global Software Business Strategy team. She developed extensive experience executing primary and secondary market research, including competitive analysis, survey and interview-based research, and the creation of market models. As director of IDC's Global Software Alliance Leadership Council, her research focused on alliance trends, best practices and benchmarking.
Prior to joining IDC in 2001, Julie was part of the Asia Pacific, Canada and Latin America product development team and managed the customized information and consulting solutions team at Dun & Bradstreet. Julie Tiley studied economics at the University of Waterloo, and holds a Masters in Business Economics from the Wilfrid Laurier University.
