Shane Minogue

Research Manager

As a research manager for IDC New Zealand, Shane Minogue is responsible for both quantitative and qualitative research in the telecommunications industry. This includes examining current market conditions, the competitive profile, and future outcomes of the industry based on primary and secondary research. Using a variety of tools from survey data, media research, client and vendor community engagement, and a wide network of IDC’s industry experts, he critically and strategically analyses the continuing advancements within the telecommunications industry, including forecasting data, analysing market events, and completing custom research to cater for client-specific needs.


After joining IDC in 2011, Shane has become a clear thought leader in the telecommunications space. Prior to joining IDC, He worked in financial consulting in Ireland, specialising in economic and market dynamics.

Shane holds a master’s degree in economic research and a bachelor’s degree in economics from University College Cork, graduating with a first-class honours degree in both courses.
