John Jackson

John Jackson is Research Vice President, Mobile & Connected Platforms. He is responsible for IDC's research on content and service distribution strategies across social, messaging, and service distribution platforms that primarily face consumer markets. His areas of expertise include platform strategies (social, messaging, ecommerce), marketing and "mar-tech", application development and delivery platforms, mobile devices, communications semiconductors, operator and channel strategies, network technologies and standards, as well as market forecasting.

BACKGROUND

John has fifteen years of experience as a primary research analyst and advisor across multiple telecom, media, and technology topics and sub-markets. Prior to joining IDC, John was a Vice President of Research at CCS Insight, a UK-based market research and advisory firm, and before that he led the Yankee Group's Wireless/Mobile Technologies practice.
