Michael Versace is a Research Director at IDC responsible for global digital enterprise strategy services.  Mr. Versace's research focuses on the intersection of digital transformation and corporate strategy, the challenges that confront executives in developing, leading, and executing effective digital strategies, and trends in digital services.  Mr. Versace's research analyzes the digital imperatives that fuel the adoption of cognitive computing, cloud, Big Data, the Internet of Things, next generation security, and other third 3rd platform technologies. Mr. Versace offers insight and advice to help enterprises succeed with digital strategies, and provides market forecasts and competitive analysis to the digital strategy and agency services community. An established thought leader, Mr. Versace has published research and addressed business and IT executives around the world on business and technology strategy and risk since joining IDC in 2010.


Before joining IDC, Mr. Versace established his career in financial services, with senior positions at Fidelity Investments, the Federal Reserve Banks, including assignments with the United States Treasury Financial Management Service, Coopers and Lybrand (now PwC), and BayBank Systems (now Bank of America).  While at the Federal Reserve, Mr. Versace, along with innovation engineers from IBM, Sun Microsystems, and the U.S. banking industry, operationalized the first Internet payment system using TCP/IP, XML, and public key technologies.  As a business and technology strategist for ZEFER and Niteo Partners (now NEC Global Business Services), Mr. Versace advised leading clients on the transformative impact of Internet technologies on product and service brands and operations, and assisted clients in building and executing on a portfolio of initiatives for using the Internet in their businesses.
