Chwee Kan Chua

Chwee Chua is Global Research Director for Big Data & Analytics and Cognitive/Artificial Intelligence in the Asia/Pacific region.

Based in Singapore, Chwee is responsible for leading the creation and production of forward market insights in the aforementioned computing sectors for the region.

He advises technology buyers and IT suppliers who are seeking to transform their businesses and gain new market positioning. Chwee is perceptive to the complex and varying needs of business stakeholders. He brings along more than a decade of industry and tech buyer experience in using data, analytics and technology for business transformations. His work included consulting and architecting solutions for operational and marketing analytics, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

Chwee’s role extends beyond engaging technology buyers and assisting them in making informed decisions.  He provides guidance and advisory to influential line of business leaders in developing strategic ICT plans that align with their business goals.

In addition to ensuring quality independent research and analysis, Chwee also introduces new and insightful analytical programs, supplemented with thought leadership in today’s complex and dynamic technology marketplace.

Prior to joining IDC, Chwee was at Exeter Group in Boston for 16 years; managing and delivering enterprise solutions for companies and organizations in the pharmaceutical, government, insurance, non-profit, and higher education sectors across the United States and Middle East. On top of providing consulting services, he was also actively leading in business development and account servicing work.

Chwee is fluent in English and Mandarin. He graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and was conferred summa cum laude.
