Francisco Almeida

Senior Research Analyst, European Mobile Devices

Francisco Almeida is a senior research analyst in the European Mobile Devices team, based in London, U.K. He plays a key role in the IDC Quarterly European Wearable Device Tracker and the Augmented and Virtual Reality Headset Tracker programs, analysing vendor performance and strategies, technology trends, market trends, and forecasting these technologies, in the region. He also contributes to the Mobile Phone Tracker and the Mobile Devices CIS Service.

Prior to joining IDC, Almeida worked as a commercial assistant for Deutsche Bank in Portugal. At university, he was vice president at the students’ association, where he was responsible for logistics management and organized several academic events. He also did volunteering work by raising funds for non-governmental organizations in Porto, Portugal.

Almeida studied management at the Católica Porto
Business School, and is a postgraduate in operations management from the Porto Business School. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
