Alex Yuen

Market Analyst, Client Devices & IPDS (ANZ)

Alex Yuen is a market analyst responsible for examining current market conditions, and identifying future outcomes of the wider mobile devices space. This includes coverage of mobile devices, mobile computing, mobile device management, and digital mobility services. Additionally, Alex is responsible for New Zealand consumer research, most notably IDC’s ConsumerScape research, which surveys over 1,400 New Zealand consumers on their technology spending behaviour. Alex regularly engages on a variety of custom client-specific research projects, and is currently leading IDC New Zealand’s research on robotics and how it will shape New Zealand’s future technological landscape and economy.

Prior to joining IDC, Alex graduated with a bachelor's degree in commerce with First Class Honours in Economics and Finance, and a bachelor of Arts in history, both from the University of Auckland. At University, he served as Treasurer of the Students Association, and was responsible for all aspects of financial management of a NZ$1.6 million annual turnover incorporated charity, while also founding and running an independent film photography business.
