As an IDC China chartered Research Director based in San Mateo, California, Chris Dong is mainly responsible for helping U.S.–based information and communications technology clients to effectively shape or advance their marketing and partnership strategies in China, and to fully reap China's tremendous digital transformation opportunities on its way to being the world’s largest 3rd Platform market. In the meantime, he supports China-based MNC clients to accelerate their globalization efforts in the U.S. Mr. Dong collaborates closely with IDC US, Asia/Pacific, and China research and sales teams to qualify and close business requirements, exercising thought leadership and program management to help strengthen client relationships, and adding perspectives to maximize the client impacts brought by IDC China’s custom research.

Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Dong has served in a variety of U.S.- and China-based roles for both American and Chinese ICT corporations (Cisco, Microsoft, Beyondsoft), ranging from business operations, alliances business development, to technology research & development, focusing on enablement of their globalization journeys by driving strategic planning, innovation and operational excellence, and through program management of organic growth, acquisition integrations, and strategic partnerships.
