Chris Dong leads IDC China’s vertical/industry research on government, manufacturing, health, energy, and retail insights. The research and advisory work covers Smart City, smart business park, safe city, smart manufacturing and value chains, and smart health, with IDC’s Digital Transformation thought leadership and DecisionScapes research framework being deeply and effectively applied to advance both research insights and the end user’s innovation-driven transformation. He also helps U.S.–based clients to effectively shape or advance their marketing and partnership strategies in China and supports China-based clients to accelerate their globalization efforts in the United States.

Prior to joining IDC, Chris served in a variety of U.S.- and China-based executive roles for both American and Chinese corporations (Cisco, Microsoft, Beyondsoft), ranging from strategic planning, business operations, strategic alliances, government relations, and product/solution development, driving innovation and operational excellence through organic growth, acquisition integrations, and strategic partnerships.
