Tetsuya Maruyama

Business Analysis Research Manager, IDC Japan

Tetsuya Maruyama is a Business Analysis Research Manager in the IDC Japan Research team based in Tokyo, Japan.  He is specialized in forecasting and measurement of various ICT markets in Japan.   He collaborates with the worldwide Central Forecast Modeling team in the effort to achieve IDC’s best forecasting practices.  Tetsuya has more than 10 years of experience in market sizing and forecasting of worldwide PC, server, tablet, and smartphone markets.  He also manages user survey activities in Japan.

Before joining IDC, he worked at Intel as a senior economist and statistician in Marketing and Business Planning team of US headquarter.  He built and developed forecasting models for various computing devices using econometric and time series methods.  Based in Japan, he worked extensively with Japan and China business teams and made presentations for internal and external stakeholders about worldwide economy and market forecasting.  He was responsible for business relationship with ICT and economic research companies in Japan.

Tetsuya received PhD in Economics from University of Pennsylvania.  He has experiences of teaching at university and academic research in both theoretical and empirical economics, and has published empirical research papers.  He also holds a Master and Bachelor degree of Economics from Kyoto University.
