Damon Carter

Adjunct Research Advisor

Damon Carter is an adjunct analyst with IDC’s IT Executive Program (IEP), with a specialization in human capital management. He is currently Senior Director, Human Resources for Operations & Technology at Aetna.  In this role, Damon is responsible for partnering with the IT Executive Leadership Team to develop and deliver innovative human capital strategies designed to meet future organizational needs. 

 

BACKGROUND

Damon has extensive consultative experience in strategic workforce planning, leadership development, diversity & inclusion, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, labor relations and continuous process improvement (i.e., LEAN/Six Sigma).  During his tenure at Aetna, Damon has also provided strategic HR support to various functional areas, including Service Operations, Procurement, Strategic Programs, Clinical Innovation, Marketing, Product Development, and Corporate Communications.  He also served as the chief of staff for the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer and head of the HR consulting organization.

Damon has held HR leadership roles with several other companies, including Express Scripts, General Electric, United Technologies Corporation and DaimlerChrysler.
