This IDC study covers the worldwide and U.S. managed print and document services and basic print services markets, which represent addressable markets of $14.5 billion and $19.4 billion, respectively, for 2015. The combined worldwide MPDS and BPS market is projected to grow from $33.9 billion in 2015 to $45.7 billion in 2020 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.1%.
"While 2015 was a volatile year for hardcopy manufacturers, the overall market for print and document services remains strong," says Robert Palmer, research director, IDC's Imaging, Printing, and Document Solutions. "Enterprise customers are looking to achieve greater return from their MPDS engagements through value-added services that extend far beyond print management into areas that drive operational efficiencies, streamline workflows, strengthen device and content security, and improve worker productivity. Meanwhile, the transition to the cloud is creating new opportunities for outsourced document services within the broader market."
