IDC MaturityScape: Mobile Print and Scan 1.0

By: Arianna Valentini

This IDC study aims to help IT stakeholders (e.g., CIOs, IT managers, and directors) and line-of-business (LOB) decision makers understand where their organizations are positioned with respect to mobile print and scan. The study discusses the following in respect to the IDC Mobile Print and Scan MaturityScape:

  • Framework for mobile print and scan maturity for the enterprise
  • Business impact for each of the five stages of maturity (i.e., ad hoc, opportunistic, repeatable, managed, and optimized)
  • Critical measures, business outcomes, and actions required for organizations to effectively develop mobile print and scan competency

The study also provides guidance on how organizations can advance along the five maturity stages to maximize the benefit from enabling mobile print and scan workflows.

"Delivering optimized workflows including mobile print and scan requires the entire organization to invest in a strategy that encourages and drives transformation," says Arianna Valentini, senior research analyst, IDC's Document Solutions. "Businesses that are able to use mobile print and scan as part of strategic workflows should be able to continually improve worker productivity, increase revenues with customers, and see a positive impact on their business as a result."
