Abstract

This IDC Perspective highlights the growing use of connected products to support warranty service innovation. While still in the early stages of adoption, manufacturers are exploring the ways that data from connected products can be used to reduce warranty costs, facilitate more efficient warranty processing, and create new service offerings.

"IDC believes that warranty processes can be used strategically by manufacturers to drive greater product quality, enhance customer engagement, and drive service innovation," said Heather Ashton, research manager, IDC Manufacturing Insights.
