Abstract

This IDC Retail Insights Perspective discusses Amazon Prime Now, a new service launched by Amazon in fall 2015. This service allows Prime members to receive their product in two hours, or under one hour for a fee. This service is disruptive to retailers, and their logistics coordination complexity keeps the barriers to entry high. Will this service be successful and competitive? Only time will tell if it will catch on as addictively as two-day delivery has.
