Abstract

This IDC study suggests ways for IT buyers to spur better working relationships with telecom suppliers to deliver stronger business outcomes and reliability to internal and external customers of enterprise IT operations. Enterprises need to engage with suppliers to support ongoing enterprise infrastructure services. Relationships between enterprises and telecommunications SPs are increasingly expanding to include telecommunications SP offerings that strategically support enterprise offerings in areas such as IoT and mobility.

"Enterprise IT buyers and line-of-business partners to IT have a new opportunity to influence telecom suppliers, which will be much higher than in previous cycles," said Elisabeth Rainge, research vice president, CSP Operations. "Enterprise technology buyers can influence the transformation of telecom SP operations toward a customer-first focus."
