Abstract

This IDC study provides perspective on the various standards bodies, consortia, and alliances that are shaping the global Internet of Things ecosystem. The study includes a description and overview of some of the major IoT-related standards bodies, specifications, and industry alliances that are active in the market and provides a future outlook as well as some essential guidance for vendors that are evaluating their IoT standards priorities and strategies. The information presented in this study has been gathered through various sources, including in-depth interviews with decision makers from several IoT standards organizations and secondary research.
