IDC's 2016 Workforce Transformation Survey: Online Communities Results

Abstract

This IDC Survey explores how organizations are using different types of collaborative applications for business purposes and looks at four segments: messaging, Web conferencing, online communities, and content collaboration.

IDC's 2016 Workforce Transformation Survey focuses on online communities and aims to answer four main questions:

  • What initiative (in the list below) do you believe is impacted the most when using corporate-sponsored online communities? "Impact" is measured in terms of time savings, quality of execution, and perceived effort.
  • Please select the most important characteristic of a corporate-sponsored online communities that would influence a solution purchasing decision.
  • Please identify the top driver for the next major change you will make to your corporate-sponsored online community.
  • What is your current annual budget for your all social and collaboration applications? Responses for corporate-sponsored online communities.

All responses are strictly confidential and are reported only in aggregate. The survey fielded questions to 700 U.S. respondents.
