Abstract

This IDC study offers a method for the CIO to craft a convincing executive storyboard that addresses the financial impact and decision options for both the traditional IT spend and the major new investments in DX.

Fred Magee, adjunct research analyst with IDC, says, "IDC believes that an easy-to-understand, but rigorous, presentation of the existing IT environment by the CIO is the essential "table setting" for making the case for next-generation DX investments. The key to making a useful CIO storyboard is to present the information in a way that is comprehensive and detailed while being simple enough to digest in a 30- to 60-minute presentation format."
