Abstract

This IDC Buyer Case Study looks at some of the key hardware and software details of the new Sunway TaihuLight system, which recently debuted at the number 1 spot of the list of the world's TOP500 most powerful supercomputers. The system was developed by the National Research Center of Parallel Computer Engineering & Technology, and it is installed at China's Wuxi National Supercomputing Center (NSCC). Its indigenous processor — an impressive milestone for a number 1 Chinese HPC — was developed by the Shanghai High Performance IC Design Center.
