December 2016 was a big month for NetApp price reductions on existing products. Over 400 parts were reduced, highlighted on the system side by 18–24% reductions on AFF8080 systems, 3–16% on FAS25XX systems, and 11% on both E5600A and EF560A systems. The largest hardware cuts were on storage with and overall 25% category reduction, with the larger cuts this time on HDD, over 40% for many parts. These are the first NetApp list price cuts since September, in which the vendor had a smaller set of cuts, only 250 parts, and a smaller range of reduction, including slightly raising list prices on some storage parts.

NetApp had its largest set of new part introductions for 2016 in December with most of the activity with new storage drives and SDD noting that this category also had a fair amount of price cuts in December. On the system side, NetApp is showing new AXXX, E27XX, and E28XX products.
