A CFO's Guide to Maximizing Vendor Business Value

By: Aaron PolikaitisVice President of Research, Vendor Sourcing and Management

Abstract

This IDC Perspective provides insight to CFOs, CIOs, CPOs, and VSM practitioners on shifting resources and efforts from tactical savings initiatives to the formation of strategic partnerships and enterprise agreements with vendors that drive innovation and digital transformation. Over the past decade, many enterprises have completed multiple rounds of tactical savings initiatives. Some have reached a point of diminishing returns yet continue to invest in savings initiatives that yield marginal returns.

According to Aaron Polikaitis, vice president for IDC's IT Executive Programs Vendor Sourcing and Management practice, "By shifting efforts away from tactical savings toward the formation of strategic partnerships with valued innovators, enterprises can maximize the business value of their technology portfolio."
