Abstract

This IDC study presents a view of organizational data as a service revenue from the historical year 2016 through to the five forecast years of 2017–2021.

"Data as a service is growing in importance and relevance to an ever-larger set of customers," says David Schubmehl, research director, Cognitive/Artificial Intelligence Systems at IDC. "IDC is seeing third-party data such as organizational data being used to build predictive and prescriptive applications. We see a growing role for all kinds of third-party data, and in particular, organizational data of all types and functions are being used to provide better accuracy for marketing, sales, partnerships, competitive intelligence, and overall decision making."
