This IDC Pivot Table presents the data from the second annual IDC Government Insights ranking of both the Top 50 vendors serving the government market and the Enterprise Top 25 rankings of large IT vendors that serve multiple industries. (The rankings are mutually exclusive.)
IDC Government Insights launched these rankings in 2016 to provide a quantifiable and orderly way to view and evaluate technology providers that serve the often-changing government IT industry. IDC examines thousands of different federal IT contracts, and then isolates the spending by fiscal year. We send our estimates to the companies for their consideration and potential feedback.
These rankings capture what we believe is spent on hardware, software, and IT services only. It does not include staffing costs, business process engineering, or other non-IT spending. This approach is unique to IDC's approach to establishing top vendor spending. It makes our numbers lower than what can be seen on other top vendor lists, but we believe it is a better measure of what is truly "addressable" IT revenue from the federal government.
The Pivot Table includes:
- 2017 Top 50 Government IT Vendor Rankings: The top vendor listed is Lockheed Martin.
- 2017 Government IT Vendor Enterprise Top 25 rankings: The top vendor listed is IBM.
