Abstract

This IDC study is the third in a three-part special study entitled OpenStack Infrastructure Ecosystem: Adoption Patterns, Use Cases, and Market Outlook.

"OpenStack continues to garner momentum in the infrastructure hardware and software markets as enterprises and service providers prefer it over commercial alternatives for building public and private clouds," said Ashish Nadkarni, program director, Computing Platforms, at IDC. "OpenStack will remain an infrastructure systems play, with much of the revenue coming from hardware as firms that deploy OpenStack at scale prefer the open source distributions to commercial software."
