On-line Presentation

Abstract

This IDC Presentation provides the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) regional forward perspective and implications of the IDC FutureScape: Worldwide Robotics 2019 Predictions (IDC Manufacturing Insights #US43376918, October 2018). Each prediction is presented with the timeline projection (2019–2023) and the associated cost and/or complexity to address it.

The APEJ robotics (including drones) market continued to drive the growth of worldwide spending in robotics in 2018. It is forecast to account for 62% of the world's total spending in robotics, drones, and related hardware, software, and services in 2022. APEJ companies are benefiting from the deployment of robots with enhanced operations productivity/efficiency, reduced labor cost and labor dependence, increased operations capacity, and better/safer working environment for employees.
