This IDC Survey presents key findings from IDC's 2017 Global IoT Decision Maker Survey with a focus on how U.S. healthcare organizations are approaching Internet of Things (IoT) use cases. The survey was conducted across 25 countries worldwide and asked more than 3,600 enterprise IT and business decision makers about their perception of the Internet of Things as well as their early IoT deployments or plans for deployment. The survey also delved into the perceived challenges and opportunities that arise from the IoT. A total of 44 U.S. healthcare organizations responded to the survey, representing providers and integrated delivery networks.
"Healthcare providers have fully embraced IoT with nearly three out of four respondents indicating that they have deployed an IoT solution with operational use cases the most commonly deployed," stated Lynne A. Dunbrack, research vice president, IDC Health Insights. "This is consistent with our 2016 Connected Health Survey that revealed that the majority of healthcare organizations thought IoT is or would be mainstream by 2017."
