Dynatrace Perform 2018: Delivering Automation to Developers in a Multicloud Environment Through Partnerships with Multiple Cloud Service Providers

Author: Larry Carvalho
Research Director, Platform as a Service

This IDC Market Note presents a report on observations from the Dynatrace Perform 2018 event. The Dynatrace Perform 2018 event gave customers the ability to see the future of IT management in a multicloud environment, enabling IT administrators to abstract and automate distributed infrastructure to developers. As customers adopt cloud technologies, IDC has seen the preference to choose an independent vendor to manage an infrastructure delivered by a variety of large infrastructure vendors like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google. At the same time, developer productivity is being delivered by PaaS vendors like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Red Hat, Google Cloud Platform, Pivotal, Salesforce, and SAP that require modern IT management features. Dynatrace's overall openness and support of the OpenAPI initiative, with partnerships, serve the company well in delivering on the promise of a self-driving IT. The main challenge is to expand support to vendors like Salesforce and build a product that can easily attract and add more new partners into the company's ecosystem.
