This IDC study provides a worldwide SD-WAN infrastructure market forecast across major regions for the period extending to 2023, including historical numbers for 2016 through 2018 and forecast numbers for 2019–2023. It provides regional geographic segmentation of the SD-WAN infrastructure market, including market sizes and CAGRs for each major region (i.e., North America, EMEA, APJ, and Latin America). This IDC study also covers the hardware and software revenue derived from SD-WAN deployments.
"Driven by the unrelenting imperative of digital transformation and the enterprise embrace of cloud and multicloud, network modernization is extending across WANs worldwide," said Brad Casemore, research VP for Datacenter Networks at IDC. "This is not surprising when one considers that the WAN is essential to business outcomes at branch locations and remote sites, which are often where business takes place, whether in the form of employee productively or customer satisfaction. As we look ahead, we see an intensification of competition in SD-WAN infrastructure, and we expect further market consolidation to ensue as customers choose their suppliers and as vendors vie for sustainable differentiation, some with a view to using SD-WAN as a foundational element in a larger SD-Branch platform strategy."
