Abstract

This IDC study describes the organizational characteristics at five levels of artificial intelligence maturity, from a completely ad hoc approach with limited awareness to one in which artificial intelligence innovation strategy is woven into the organization's culture at every level. It is intended to help organizations evaluate current business transformation initiatives and identify the steps they need to take to advance to the next stage of maturity. Key stakeholders of artificial intelligence–based transformation initiatives include executives, IT leadership, line-of-business managers, employees, partners, and suppliers.

"Artificial Intelligence is at the heart of digital disruption. It is transforming every aspect of our daily lives. AI disrupters will drive better customer engagements and have accelerated rates of innovation, higher competitiveness, higher margins, and productive employees. Organizations worldwide must evaluate their vision and transform their people, processes, technology, and data readiness to unleash the power of AI and thrive in the digital era," said Ritu Jyoti, program vice president, Artificial Intelligence Strategies.
