Abstract
IDC Innovators are emerging vendors with revenue <$100 million that have demonstrated either a groundbreaking business model or an innovative new technology — or both. This IDC Innovators study identifies four companies with new solutions impacting wearables in the enterprise: ALICE, Notable, Orion Labs, and Theatro. The common thread running through them is that they all provide customizable and scalable platforms that connect wearers with others or wearers with the enterprise to facilitate communication, collaboration, and productivity.
"In putting this IDC Innovators study together, we looked closely at those companies that offer complete solutions with a wearable device," said Ramon T. Llamas, research director for IDC's Mobile Devices team. "These companies recognize that wearables can play an important part to keep workers' hands free to complete tasks, yet also communicate information back and forth. In addition, these companies also introduce wearable workflows, enabling workers to communicate that tasks have been completed and are ready for the next stage. The end result: companies can save money, time, and better serve their customers."
