"The worldwide smartwatch market is in a state of transition," says Ramon T. Llamas, research director for IDC's Wearables team. "Vendors are moving away from experimenting with form and function and finally hit upon a form factor and platform that works for them. At the same time, they are discovering new use cases previously not considered. This will allow the smartwatch to reach more potential customers with an array of services that fit their work- and lifestyle."
