IDC Retail Insights: Experiential Hospitality, Dining, and Travel Digital Transformation

By: Leslie HandVice President, IDC Retail Insights

On-line Presentation

Abstract

This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation highlights our recently published experiential hospitality, dining, and travel digital transformation (DX) use case taxonomy.

As an organizing principle for our digital transformation research, IDC has created a DX use case taxonomy for multiple industry segments.

The taxonomy follows a hierarchical structure that begins with the digital mission, the strategic priorities that support that mission, the programs that will be initiated to satisfy the priorities, and the funded projects or use cases that will be implemented under those programs. The taxonomy not only forms the basis for our market forecasts but also provides the framework for digital journey maps that will assist our clients in understanding the full scope of enterprise efforts.

"These use cases will be critical for hospitality organizations to integrate into their individual technology road map planning as they develop a better understanding of digital transformation. IT suppliers will use these use cases to better understand the needs of retailers and to better tailor their strategies and product plans to respond to the changing requirements of hoteliers, transport organizations, and travel agencies." — Jaideep Thyagarajan, senior market analyst, IDC Retail Insights

This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation is most effective when reviewed in concert with IDC's Worldwide Digital Transformation Use Case Taxonomy, 2018: Experiential Hospitality, Dining, and Travel (IDC #US44100218, July 2018).
