An Analysis of U.S. Consumer Sentiment About Streaming/Online Subscription Video Services
This IDC Survey discusses the U.S. consumer sentiment about streaming/online subscription video services. The inaugural ConsumerScape 360 Subscription Services Survey held relatively good news for providers of subscription-based online or streaming video in the United States. Of the consumers, 60% indicated high satisfaction with the value for money they get from their services. Elsewhere data shows less agreement with the idea that content is undifferentiated among providers, or that the market has too many options.
"Streaming and online subscription video service providers can find more reasons to be confident than cautious in our data," said John Jackson, IDC's research vice president for Consumer Technologies and Services. "To be sure," he continued, "there are some cautions, but the main takeaway is that, there is room for additional wallet share for online/streaming providers."
