This IDC Presentation discusses how and on what categories of products and services channel partners are making money. It also discusses where partners are reinvesting in their businesses, and what motivates a partner to invest in a vendor, and conversely what makes a partner disengage.
Much of the data in this Presentation is from the 2018 IDC's Partner Transformation Survey conducted with 502 channel partners over the telephone in May and June 2018. The partners in this study are representative of a wide range of partner types, sizes, and business models. The hypothetical partner profit and loss statements were based on the aforementioned survey data in addition to in-depth discussions with three successful channel partner presidents/CEOs.
